I'm working on new pieces for an upcoming show in July.
Greetings!
Hi, i'm Julie and I'm a visual artist. I work with a lot of different materials, including clay, paint, wood, and fabric. My studio is in Little Rock, Arkansas, and this blog is where I share studio goings on, new work, and occasional whatnot.

potted herbs
today's painting:
it's a miracle that my little herbs have survived this blistering summer we've had. the nice thing is they'll probably make it thru most of the fall now as it doesn't get too cold here till late november. time will tell.

wood
of course we couldn't go the entire time away without visiting at least one estate sale. we found one in the valley and stopped to see what treasures we might find.
i discovered this stack of 6 wooden bowls inside a dark pantry and couldn't resist them. they just needed a little washing and they are so beautiful. i also found this kahlil gibran hard back. the flowers are from a walk about in the canyon.
lovely.
back home in little rock, bowls drying in the sun....

oh, can you see my little garden in the background? i arrived home to see it had survived our violent heat wave, thanks to the watering skills of my sister!
that's peppers, basil(tons of it) and the biggest marigolds i've ever seen, that are only now beginning to bloom as i planted everything late this year. i am trying to grow 2 tomato plants, but mostly the caterpillars have eaten them. sigh. i haven't done well with tomatoes the last few years, but i keep trying.
