Greetings!

Hi, i'm Julie and I'm a visual artist. I work with a lot of different materials, including clay, paint, wood, and fabric. My studio is in Little Rock, Arkansas, and this blog is where I share studio goings on, new work, and occasional whatnot.

tribal cat

today's painting:

been thinking about animal totems lately, and i think i may do a little series here of some that i like and feel drawn to, or just feel like getting to know. if you are interested in some possible understandings of these totems, here is good place to start. btw, betcha couldn't tell i like cats.

plus it gives me a chance to play with pattern and color! yay:)

repose 2 - revisited

today's painting:

when i was living in pittsburgh, pa one winter, i painted a large series of small watercolors. within this series was a mini series of three: repose 1,2 &3.

it's highly likely i will revisit them all. :)

this little cat seems so serious. (this was from another great photo taken by randy.)

oh, along with redoing the book project, i am working on my donation for eggshibition 2012 for youth home. as soon as it's done, i'll show you some pics. fingers crossed! btw, if you are interested here's the link. you can buy tickets for the event and see some of the eggs from past years at their website. the theme this year is "eggstreme makeover".
