a pictorial romp through process

a picture story for you to enjoy: the creation of a commissioned 17" terra cotta platter wall hanging:







it may not seem it, but it's quite a long and delicate process painting on a greenware (unfired) platter. one false move and that sucker's dust. the piece must then survive a 1st firing, be glazed clear, and fired again. whew. wears me out to think about it.
